Gift card terms and conditions at Kniterlandia outline everything you need to know about using, returning, and managing gift cards. Please read this page carefully to understand the rules and limitations that apply.

Purchasing a Gift Card

Kniterlandia Gift Cards are available for purchase exclusively through our online store.

  • When you purchase a digital Gift Card, you’ll be asked to confirm your acceptance of these Terms (for example, by ticking a box at checkout).
  • Once your order is completed, we’ll send you an order confirmation email. At that moment, a binding agreement is created under these Terms.

Who These Terms Apply To

These Terms apply to consumers purchasing or using a Kniterlandia Gift Card. We may update them from time to time, and the version that applies is the one in effect at the time you purchase your Gift Card. The latest version will always be available on our website.

1. Important Information About Your Gift Card

1.1 This Agreement is Between:

(a) You, the person purchasing or using the Kniterlandia Gift Card (“you” or “your”); and
(b) Kniterlandia (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

1.2 How the Gift Card Works

Each Kniterlandia Gift Card allows you to pay for knitwear and other products on our website, up to the available balance on the card.

  • Gift Cards can only be used for purchases made directly on our official online store.
  • You can only use a Gift Card if we offer it as a payment method for the selected product, which will be indicated at checkout.

1.3 Geographic Restrictions

Kniterlandia Gift Cards can only be used in the country where they were purchased. For example, if you buy a digital Gift Card on the Dutch website, it can only be redeemed on that same website. Any geographic restrictions due to local regulations will be clearly communicated before purchase.

1.4 Gift Card Balance & Purchase Limits

  • The balance on your Gift Card is in the local currency of the country of purchase.
  • Each Gift Card has a maximum balance, which will be displayed during the purchase process.
  • To prevent fraud and comply with financial regulations, we may set limits on the number or value of Gift Cards that can be purchased in a single transaction.
  • During checkout, you will select a balance from the available options, and that amount will be the total cost of your Gift Card.

2. Gift Card Validity and Usage

2.1 Receiving Your Digital Gift Card

  • After purchasing a Kniterlandia Gift Card, you’ll receive an email with a unique barcode, card number, and PIN.
  • This email will be sent to the address you provided at checkout. It serves as your digital Gift Card—no physical card needed.

2.2 Keeping Your Gift Card Secure

  • Never share your Gift Card details (barcode, number, or PIN) with anyone unless you intend to gift the balance.
  • If you’re giving a Gift Card to someone else, you can simply forward the email to the recipient.
  • Before deleting your email, make sure the recipient has received and saved their Gift Card.
  • If you transfer a Gift Card to someone else, it’s your responsibility to inform them of these Terms.

2.3 No Expiry Date

Your Kniterlandia Gift Card does not expire. However, we reserve the right to cancel a transaction made with a Gift Card or revoke the Gift Card in specific cases outlined in Section 6.

2.4 Checking Your Balance

2.5 Using Your Gift Card for Purchases

To pay with your Gift Card, simply:

  • Enter the Gift Card number at checkout when prompted.
  • Use the PIN to authorize the transaction.
  • All purchases made with a Gift Card are subject to our Terms & Conditions of Sale.

2.6 If Your Gift Card Balance Is Not Enough

  • If your Gift Card balance doesn’t cover the full amount of your order, you’ll need to pay the difference using another accepted payment method.
  • Available payment methods may change, and some options (e.g., credit card only) may be required. Check our Gift Card FAQ for the latest details.
  • If you don’t provide an additional payment method when required, your order may be canceled.

2.7 Transaction Authorizations Are Final

  • Gift Card transactions are processed instantly.
  • Once you authorize a payment with your PIN, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to reverse or cancel it.

2.8 System Issues & Support

  • While we strive to ensure smooth transactions, technical issues may occur (e.g., website malfunctions).
  • If you experience persistent problems using your Gift Card, please contact our Customer Service for assistance.

3. Your Right to Cancel (Withdrawal Policy)

3.1 Cancelling Your Gift Card Purchase

  • You have the right to cancel your purchase of a digital Gift Card within 14 days from the date of purchase, as long as the Gift Card has not been used.
  • If you wish to cancel, please contact our Customer Service for further instructions.

3.2 Refund Process

  • If your cancellation request is approved, we will refund the full amount to the original payment method used at checkout.
  • Refunds will be processed within 14 days after we receive your withdrawal request.

3.3 Important Notes

  • This policy applies only to the original purchaser of a Kniterlandia Gift Card.
  • If you received the Gift Card as a gift, this withdrawal right does not apply to you.

4. Refunds for Purchases Made with a Gift Card

4.1 Refunds to Your Gift Card

  • If you return a product that was paid for using a Kniterlandia Gift Card, your refund will be credited back to the same Gift Card as a balance top-up.
  • Please keep your Gift Card details for at least the duration of the return period to ensure you can still use the card.
  • If you used multiple Gift Cards, we’ll inform you which one will be credited with the refund. Alternatively, we may issue you a new Gift Card with the refund amount.
  • In case of a technical issue, please contact Customer Service, and we’ll arrange a suitable refund method for you.

4.2 Refunds for Orders Paid with Multiple Payment Methods

  • If you paid using a combination of a Gift Card and another payment method (e.g., credit card), the refund will be split proportionally based on the original payment method.
  • Example: If you made a €200 purchase, using €100 from a Gift Card and €100 from a credit card, and then return €100 worth of products, the refund will be €50 back to the Gift Card and €50 back to the credit card.

5. What Happens if Your Gift Card is Lost or Stolen

5.1 Your Responsibility for the Gift Card

  • Once you receive your digital Gift Card email, you are responsible for keeping the barcode, card number, and PIN safe from unauthorized use.
  • We are not responsible if you lose your Gift Card details or if someone else uses them without your permission.

5.2 Lost or Stolen Gift Cards

  • We are not obligated to replace lost or stolen Gift Cards.
  • However, if your Gift Card is lost or stolen, you may request to have it revoked to prevent unauthorized use.
  • Revocation is only possible if:
  • You provide proof of purchase of the Gift Card.
  • The Gift Card has not yet been used.

6. Our Right to Cancel or Revoke Gift Cards

6.1 Fraudulent or Unauthorized Use

We reserve the right to revoke your Gift Card or refuse a transaction if:

  • You violate these Terms.
  • We have reasonable grounds to believe your Gift Card was purchased or used fraudulently or in violation of applicable laws.
  • Your Gift Card is used in a way that is misleading, deceptive, unfair, or otherwise harmful to Kniterlandia or our customers.

6.2 Failure to Provide Additional Payment

  • If you attempt to make a purchase and your Gift Card balance is insufficient, you must use another accepted payment method to cover the difference.
  • If you do not provide the additional payment when prompted, we may cancel the transaction.

6.3 Notification of Cancellation or Revocation

  • If we cancel a transaction or revoke a Gift Card for any of the reasons above, we will inform you via email or directly in the checkout process on our website.

7. Duration and Termination

  • This Agreement remains in effect indefinitely until one of the following happens:
  • You use the full balance of your Gift Card.
  • We revoke your Gift Card under the conditions outlined in Section 6.
  • Whichever happens first will mark the expiration of your Gift Card.

8. Our Responsibility and Liability

8.1 When We Are Not Liable

We are not responsible for any losses you may incur due to:

  • Unauthorized transactions if:
  • You acted fraudulently or violated criminal law.
  • You intentionally failed to use your Gift Card in accordance with these Terms (e.g., not keeping your Gift Card details secure or failing to report a lost or stolen Gift Card).
  • Regulatory or legal compliance, including:
  • Situations where we must comply with a lawful order from a regulatory authority or court of law regarding the use of Gift Cards.

11. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution*

11.1 Governing Law

  • This Agreement is governed by the laws of Bulgaria, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
  • Any disputes related to this Agreement will be handled by the competent courts in Varna, Bulgaria, unless consumer protection laws in your country allow you to bring a claim in your country of residence within the EU

11.2 Online Dispute Resolution

  • You can access the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at http://ec.europa.eu/odr.
  • However, please note that Kniterlandia does not currently participate in any online dispute resolution process with a dispute resolution body.
